Mazda R100 Workshop Repair and Service Manual Download 1971-1972
The R100 was Mazda’s rotary coupe, and parts for it are now found by number rather than by guesswork. This download pairs both factory service manuals with the complete two-volume parts catalogue, so the procedure and the part that goes with it sit side by side.
As used by Mazda main dealer garages.
All four documents come from Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd. of Hiroshima. The service manuals are titled R100 Coupe Workshop Manual and the rotary content is published under NSU-Wankel licence.
Models: Mazda R100, known at home as the Familia Rotary, a model sold from 1968 to 1973. The parts catalogue is compiled for both bodies, R100 Coupe and R100 Sedan, in left and right hand drive, and lists the plain type and “T” type dashboard models separately. The two service manuals in this set are the 1971 and 1972 factory editions.
Engines: M10A rotary, built under NSU-Wankel licence. The engine chapter walks through removing the engine, stripping it, inspecting the front, intermediate and rear housings, the rotor housing, the rotor itself and the seals and springs, checking the eccentric shaft, then rebuilding it back up to installing the metering pump, distributors, water pump, alternator, manifold and carburettor.
Transmissions: The manual carries a combined Transmission and Changing System section, with the clutch, propeller shaft and rear axle documented separately either side of it.
The factory publications included:
Book 1: 1971 Factory Service Manual, 150 pages.
Book 2: 1972 Factory Service Manual, 150 pages.
Book 3: Factory Parts Catalogue Volume 1, 609 pages.
Book 4: Factory Parts Catalogue Volume 2, 740 pages.
Four documents, 1,649 pages in total.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this to identify and order parts?
That is what the two catalogue volumes are for. They run to 1,349 pages of illustrated factory parts listings, opening with a model number table that identifies each R100 version by body, drive side, dashboard type and destination market before the part listings begin.
Does it show how to strip and rebuild the rotary?
Yes. The engine chapter covers removal, disassembly, inspection of the housings, rotor, seals and springs and eccentric shaft, then assembly through to eccentric shaft end play adjustment and installation.
Does it cover the Sedan as well as the Coupe?
The parts catalogue does. It is compiled for the R100 Coupe and the R100 Sedan together, listing each by model number with left and right hand drive versions and the plain and “T” type dashboard variants set out separately.
What am I actually buying here?
A single archive holding four PDFs: the 1971 and 1972 factory service manuals at 150 pages each, and the factory parts catalogue in two volumes of 609 and 740 pages.
Will these open on my laptop and my phone?
They will. Standard PDFs, so any PDF reader on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android or iOS opens them with nothing to install.
When do I get the download?
Immediately after your payment clears. The link appears on the confirmation and is emailed to you as well.
